Oat genome loaded
Encouraged by communication with the scientists at the Plant and Animal Genome conference, we loaded another large genome (Avena sativa ,11 Gbp) to the Persephone portal. The version PepsiCo v2 OT3098 was downloaded from GrainGenes. Currently, the tracks with gene annotation, SNP markers, and HQ transcripts aligned to the genome are available. In addition, we produced a set of paralogs (Avena sativa set of proteins vs. itself) and orthologs (between the wheat and oat genes).
We hope that visualization and analysis of this data set in Persephone will help the scientists with their research.
