Introducing Feature Comparison Page
We have compiled a table that lists the features of the two versions of Persephone. This will help overview the milestones for the development roadmap. In general, we plan to port the most of the features of the Windows version to the Web application. Some of the new functions, such as the BAM files visualization or the instant BLASTN genome comparison, have been first implemented in the Web version, as it is built on top of the newer visualization technologies. Showing fine details of very large BAM files or rendering hundreds of thousands of polygons in the ribbon-like connectors, requires powerful graphic processing. This is achieved easier when using the WebGL engine, engaged in the Web version.
