A study on predicting promoters of several conifer species has been published by International Journal of Molecular Sciences (link). The paper called Genome-Wide Prediction of Transcription Start Sites in Conifers references Persephone’s web portal used as the repository of the genomic data and analysis of the sequences. We store thousands of genomic contigs of the four tree genomes with gene annotation, RNA-seq tracks and the transcription start sites described in the article. The genomic context of the orthologous genes can be aligned using our favorite “instant BLAST” feature, thus revealing the structural differences between homologous regions of interest discussed in the paper.
Use Persesphone to browse the genomes of Larix sibirica, Pinus taeda, Picea abies, and Picea glauca.
