A Quick Video-Tutorial on Installing Persephone Using a Docker Image
The Persephone software stack includes the database, mono (to run .NET binaries on linux), the main server WebCerberus, the loader PersephoneShell and Apache Solr text search engine. Each component can be installed and tuned separately, which in detail is described here. The auxiliary programs, such as BLAST, diamond, minimap2, etc., can be easily installed via PersephoneShell’s command ‘install’ which executes in seconds. Still, it is more convenient to use a Docker image with all needed programs preinstalled.
We recorded a short video showing the process of Persephone installation for Windows users, though typically the customers install Persephone on their linux systems. We are working on the next video for pure linux installation.
