Multiple Soybean Genomes Loaded
We have expanded our collection of public data sets by adding several reference genomes of soybean: Glycine max (soybean) and Glycine soja (wild soybean):
G. max Wm82.a2.v1
G. max Wm82.a4.v1
G. max Zhonghuang 13
G. max Zhonghuang 13 NCBI version (sequence only)
G. max Lee v1.1
G.soja PI483463
G.soja W05
Linking the orthologous genes helps reveal the structural rearrangements. In case when the gene annotation is not provided, we align the maps by cutting short sequence tags from one reference genome and mapping them onto the others. This method would provide visualization of significant differences between two versions of the sequence of G.max Zhonghuang from SoyBase and NCBI:
As usual, each connector line linking common sequence tags or the ortholog genes serves as a guide for defining the regions of interest with similarities or differences between the chromosomes. The higher resolution variations that can be further studied by zooming in and running an “instant BLAST” real-time analysis of the aligned intervals with 1 nucleotide precision:
