Another Paper in Nature references Persephone
We are pleased to announce that the paper called “Pan-genome inversion index reveals evolutionary insights into the subpopulation structure of Asian rice” have been published in Nature Communications. The study performed mostly at KAUST uncovers the prevalence and scale of large inversions (≥100 bp) across the pan-genome of Asian rice and hints at their largely unexplored role in functional biology and crop performance. Our portal at https://web.persephonesoft.com is hosting the 21 reference genomes analyzed in the paper under the node “Rice platinum standard“.
The track called “Inversions” shows location of the inversions on a reference genome. A click on a glyph calls the matching map and draws the inversion ribbon between the maps. In essence, the track shows a summary of the inversions for each map even if the matching map is not aligned on the same screen.

By the way, the journal issue’s cover page could look like this (It did not make it to the finals though) Let’s keep it here as long as the job was done.
